Midnight Realisations

At night I now get to hear a ticking sound from my watch, that generally keeps me from sleeping for a while, and makes me thing about time, how quickly it passes and then, inevitably, death.  After clouding my head with those unpleasant thoughts for a while, I realise that the sound really should remind me of life and how amazing it is that I can even hear every beat of the watch, because once I’m gone I’m pretty sure that I won’t be able to hear that tick-tack any more. After that all I can think of is how sleepy I am, and how obnoxious that sound is.  And that is how I go; at peace with Time, and annoyed with Sound

In case you didn’t get anything here’s a little explanation: I have this new analog watch that makes a lot of noise at night… It made me think a couple of things, thought I’d share them with you.  I know this really doesn’t make much sense, it’s just the kind of baloney that you think just before you go to sleep, but my “deep” () thoughts made me laugh the next day when I remembered.
